Religion & World Views
At Clifton Primary School, we are dedicated to providing a high-quality Religion and World View curriculum that equips pupils with the knowledge, understanding, and skills to engage thoughtfully with the diverse beliefs, values, and traditions that shape our world. Our approach ensures that religious education goes beyond factual knowledge, fostering critical thinking, empathy, and respect for different perspectives.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to enable pupils to explore major world religions, as well as non-religious world views, in a way that is meaningful and reflective. Through a structured progression of learning, we help pupils understand the core beliefs, practices, and ethical frameworks of different faiths, while encouraging them to consider how these influence individuals and communities. By engaging with challenging questions about meaning, purpose, and morality, pupils develop their capacity to reflect on their own beliefs and values, fostering a sense of curiosity and open-mindedness.
At Clifton Primary School, we believe that a strong and reflective approach to Religion and World Views is essential for preparing our pupils to navigate a diverse and interconnected world with understanding, respect, and a strong sense of their own place within it.
Parents and carers have the right to withdraw their child from Religion and World Views (RWV) lessons. If you wish to do so, please submit your request in writing to the school, addressed to the Headteacher. Once your request has been received, the school will contact you to discuss the arrangements for your child during these lessons.
