Writing – curriculum information

‘Our vision at Clifton is to inspire the next generation of writers.  We encourage all pupils to develop a love of writing by giving them the essential skills and knowledge needed and also an understanding of the writer’s craft so that they can thrive to become confident and imaginative in their own work.’

“I like using capital letters. I am good at it.” Sonny – Y1

“I love it when we meet authors like Clive Goddard. He’s an illustrator too. It’s so exciting to meet the author and learn what inspired them to write. I love it so much.  I love using my imagination”. Brooklyn – Y4

“Writing is my favourite thing to do. I have had my story printed in a real book. I am going to be a writer when I grow up and I’m coming back to Clifton so I can talk to the children about writing like the authors do now. “ Adam – Y6
